This essay is a brief analysis of Niccolo' Machiavelli's most famous treatise, "The Prince", written in 1513. The title page presents this work specifically to "Lorenzo The Magnificent", son of Piero Di Medici as a gift of devotion but the underlying reason was to influence the powerful Lorenzo to reinstate NM's employment with this monarchical and despot-ically entrenched Florentine family. An example is found within a free-market economy where capitalistic endeavors for domination (monopoly, cartel, etc.) do whatever is necessary to attain set goals. This creates "princes" in every business vying, on whatever level, for advancing perceived need. But, regardless of the brand of need pursued, the person(s) always wants more. "More" creates the rise and fall of empires as well as for the individual. We are all princes.
