This isn't really a true essay but rather many helpful terms acquired from my world religion class. These terms apply to many religions around the world wether they be current or of the past.

…calendar. Brahma (Hindu god), in Hindu mythology, the creator. Brahma's name is etymologically connected with brahman, the neuter noun that denotes the ultimate cosmic principle. Brahma is sometimes said to form a trinity with Vishnu the Sustainer and Shiva the Destroyer, but he does not have the status that creator gods ordinarily enjoy in mythology. Brahma's creative ability amounts to little more than a technical expertise that he employs at the bidding of other gods.
