As religion's importance decreases in the American public's view and government strengthens, more and more people have come to stand up for what they believe in. …only way for our society to take the next further step into complete transcendentalism, the idea of going beyond the realm of possible experience, would be to create a complete utopia, which will never happen in America for if we lost our structure, this country as we know it would completely fall apart. In conclusion, our current society has reached the highest plateau in moral standards and therefore we have reached Thoreau's code of ethics.
