…accomplishments of both Herodotus and Thucydides are considered notable works because they devised new ways of preserving history. With few similarities and expansive differences in many areas they are both unique. The Histories, a conglomeration of ideas from all across the classic world was written a few years before The History of the Peloponnesian War, a precise description of the war between the Greek city states, shows a definite clear unlikeness in technique and content.
