Trends in US History Before 1776

Some things will never change. This is true of the trends in America's past. When the first Englishmen settled here, up until the present day, we have time and time again gotten ourselves into the same sticky situations. …after the Revolution, France asked for money, and we gave it to them. This put us even further behind. Plus, economic growth practically stopped in the south just before the Civil war. <Tab/>Obviously, the US has made some of the same mistakes more than once, but each time our government makes one, the country seems to learn from it. History really does repeat itself, and some things will never change.
