…success of the US innovation systems, leading to the growth of the knowledge economy. However, these positive aspects brought along with them various concomitant negative dimensions. Defense corporations misused the excessive powers vested in them, and influenced other spheres of the complex to propagate their own interests. The society, which bore the brunt of these activities, now needs to take immediate corrective measures to prevent the continued rise in dominance of the Military Industrial Complex.
