Us Expansion

The late nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century United States expansionism was a continuation of past United States expansionism. The Louisiana Purchase and the Mississippi River proved to be important trade routes for the United States along with the New Orleans's harbors for resources and raw materials in early expansion years. The United States obtained Hawaii, the Philippines, Cuba and trade routes in China. The United States never would have considered taking this land if it wanted to stop expanding. Instead the United States continuously gained territories from early expansionism to late nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century expansionism to establish itself in trade, culture and military around the world.
