Welfare: My opinion on todays welfare programs.

This essay is generally about the welfare reform system, or the workfare system. Many new programs were instituted that were reforms to past programs, and improved upon the way that the welfare system worked. The ultimate goal of workfare was to get as many welfare recipients into the job market in order for them to become self-sufficient, instead of relying on federal assistance. …requirements needed for assistance filters out those who try to take advantage of the system, and addresses many issues that were once unresolved. The system practically forces people to get a job because of the time limit on financial assistance, which should be more than enough to motivate even the laziest citizen. The more people there are with jobs, the better the economy is, and the less the federal government has to pay in assistance.
