What is reality? This is a question so commonly asked that it has given it self characteristics of a rhetorical question. This discussion will provide three viewpoints that attempt to answer this difficult question. Dualism is one of these philosophies. Dualists think that mind and matter are both parts of reality. …real. This is why monism is the superior philosophy, since the only reality is our mind which creates everything that is "real" to us. In conclusion, properties of all three viewpoints have been discussed in this discussion. The problems with the dualism and the eastern philosophy have been presented. Along with that it is well explained why monism is the ultimate philosophy. It simply explains reality to a further extent then the two apposing philosophies.
