Why was the spanish armada defeated

…on the weather saying "I sent you out to war with men, not with the wind and waves." But perhaps the biggest reason why the armada failed was because of King Philip himself. He insisted that he individually controlled the armada's mission. He did not allow his military leaders to make there own tactics. And he did not pay attention to advice. He thought god guided him, and therefore the Armada would succeed in battle.
