The open-source development of Linux provides many possibilities for in-house development, and makes way for a very attractive price tag. While Microsoft's Windows may have tremendous brand recognition and a simple interface, Linux proves to be worth its weight. Windows may not be the end-all Operating System, and Linux may just eventually take its place.
