Treated as minorities, they were classified with children and imbeciles, and thought to be incapable of dealing with their own affairs. Dorothy and her fellow marchers were demanding equal rights, mainly the right to vote. …Maggie's eyes and sees the Lord working through her. She did not fight back, and almost immediately she realized that it was God's doing. Maggie was totally shocked when she forgave her. She did not think she would, but Dorothy had the strength to overcome her human emotions. This ties in with her singing of "Amazing Grace".
