Canada again made careful preparations before attacking the German line. The Canadians again used the creeping barrage technique. The Canadians were able to capture Hill 70 and hold it under fierce German counterattacks. This battle unfortunately cost Canada just under 6, 000 casualties, which was devastating. However they did meet their required objective.
