…Glossopteris (a type of fern). Glossopteris fossils have been found in South America, Africa, India and Australia, but when these regions are pieced together, the distribution can be accounted for over a much smaller area (web). The same reasoning can be applied to fossils of Mesosaurus (a small freshwater Early Permian reptile) found in South Africa and southern Brazil, and to Lystosaurus (a small mammal like reptile) found in regions of Antarctica and Africa (web).
