Aboriginal Art: Traditional to Contemporary
The resurgence of Australian Indigenous art has become one of the 'most brilliant and exciting new eras of modern art.' For indigenous Australians art has been a part of their culture and tradition for thousands of years and is recognised as one of the oldest
to form what is now Australia's largest visual industry. What started out as a way for Aborigines to retell their Dreamtime stories has now become a source of both economic independence and cultural pride. However despite the ever evolving styles of Aboriginal art, Aboriginal artists have not diverged from their content, which is explicitly Aboriginal. Rather, they have expressed to Australia and the rest of the world a unique culture, which has been previously neglected.
