An Analysis of "What is Man?" based on "The Story of an Hour" by Kate Chopin, "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe, "The Jewels" by Guy de Maupassant, and "Misery" by Anton Chekhov

Answers to questions such as "what is man?" depends on from what view you are looking it from - maybe it be scientific, psychological, or biblical, there is still no clear answer to the question. It is man's instinct to define and differentiate himself/herself from other organisms. …share this grief to people to ease the pain he was feeling. Man also value his family more than himself; thus, strengthening the bond between family members. There was still a binary opposition between men and women. There was no woman in the story; therefore, it symbolized the powerlessness of women in the world. And because the appearance of woman in the story was as a horse, it even lowered down the status of women.
