…have no reason to complain when cold food is distributed. The whole concept of Newspeak is the erasing of modern language in order for the government to maintain power with ease. There are no words such as privacy, revolution, or intimacy and therefore those things do not exist. The Party is expunging all past history of independence so people will never learn of liberation and consequently have no reason to challenge Big Brother for it.
