When Haimon discovers his love, Antigone, dead he becomes so overwrought with grief that he plunges his sword into his own side. Poor Eurydice lost both a son and a daughter-in-law in the same day. She had nothing else keeping her hear on earth so she too took her life to be with a loved in the afterlife. If somebody loves somebody, sometimes they will do whatever it takes to be with them.
