…to the waiting hands of still worse fiends. I felt my strength deserting me, yet my claws bound fast. My hatred rose higher, yet my power was gone. I twisted in pain, the bleeding sinews deep in my shoulder snapped, muscle and bone split, and broke off. I fled back to my cave, broken and bleeding, agonizing in my defeat. I crawled to the back of my cave, hoping to die with every ragged breath.
