I think that if I were to continue my investigation to go for a further 10cm or 20cm that my results would be repetitive because I have covered the total range that the light could carry. When the lamp is so far away the light intensity wouldn't really differ between 10cm so there would be no point in continuing the experiment past the range that I had already chosen.
