…author's purpose for writing this short story is I think to tell of some childhood experience that he had before. It was to tell a story similar to his family's, and the small boy - narrator, was probably him in the real life. He probably also wanted the story to be interesting, and at the same time, something from his life. So he took a part of his life and changed it into a story.
