…not until this century, however, that deadly chemicals were used on such a large scale to aid in the winning of wars. Over the years after these wars, our understanding and discovery of these deadly poisons has increased greatly. With this, so too has the potential lethality of these chemicals. It is unfortunate that this knowledge which can also be used for good purposes can also be used as a weapon of great lethal force.
