After watching both Baz Luhrmann's and Franco Zeffirelli's versions of Shakespeare's tragedy, "Romeo and Juliet," one would not be hard pressed to find contrasting differences. …better is the book had been read before seeing the story. What's lost in this one is perhaps, an in-depth look at some of the characters. In Luhrmann's, we lose the language, needing pictures to translate. Each of these movies grab the book by it's neck and wring what it can from it, as to what will keep the audience there. The fight scenes and love scenes in both are what seem to be cultivated.
