Comparision of the Novel Frankenstein & the play Macbeth.

The novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, both adhere to the Shakespearean view of tragedy. They contain elements of the supernatural and use literary devices like Nemesis & Pathos. We see the passion & ambition of characters, ultimately leading to their tragic flaw. …it. Both Macbeth and Frankenstein define a particular kind of evil - the evil that results from a lust for power. In the process of accomplishing their passion, the characters disturbed the natural balance and harmony of nature. If they hadn't been so ambitious, none of the problems would have occurred and things would have been just as normal. The tragedy lies in the fact that the greatness of there two noble people were wasted.
