…they need to see that in their classrooms, in their school libraries, in their teachers? eyes, and at home with their parents that they are important and we will give them the best we have to offer. As long as American public schools are monuments to diaggreement about what, exactly, our children deserve, our teenagers will conclude that nothing they feel, learn, or do, really matters. We have seen the consequences, and they are deadly.
