THE DEATH OF GOD After summarizing the various philosophers that have been analyzed this semester, it is evident that the philosophers Rousseau, Marx, Freud, and Nietzsche believe that the death of God serves as no real consequence to the nature of humanity. The existence of God in the eyes of these philosophers does in fact complicate and manipulate the nature of humanity and should be disregarded and dispelled as false belief and a simple means
present or not, power of the self and of society is what enables change and happiness. Some writers (most) argued that God had to be overlooked for this change to occur, but others (Weil) believed that it is God who enables humans to possess and use these qualities. Consequently, the death of God to each philosopher studied this semester has a major impact on his or her views about the nature and growth of society.
