Describe and explain a major change in the character Macbeth.
Describe a major change in a character in the text. Explain why this change was important. The play 'Macbeth' by William Shakespeare is a very tragic one. It is about the downfall of a hero who is led by temptation to mass murder and cruelty. We see how Macbeth's character turns from good to evil, from a "valiant cousin" and "worthy gentleman" to a "bloody butcher" which leads him down the path of self destruction.
him from a 'valiant cousin' to a 'bloody butcher' and thus from good to evil. The importance of this change was to explore what can happen to someone who chooses evil and blindly submits to the temptation of ambition which starts the end of relationships and friendships and continues until total self-destruction because that person realizes there is no point in living and realizes exactly how much of a stranger they have become to themselves.
