Genghis Khan was born with the name Temüjin circa 1162 in Mongolia. He was the first son of Yesükhei, who was a tribal chief in a clan called the Borjigin. Temüjin's mother was Hoelun who was from the Olkhunut tribe of the Mongol confederation. Temüjin had four brothers and one sister. Temüjin had a difficult early
leaders in all of Asia. The 13th century Mongol conqueror was founder of the Mongol Empire, one that stretched farther than any other contiguous empire and gained major influence over surrounding nations. Before his death he established the Mongol Dynasty. Genghis brought about many strategic military revolutions and implemented them upon his army. He also helped with the development for a writing system for the Mongolian language. In modern Mongolia, Genghis Khan is highly regarded.
