Hamlet's Responsibility

In the play Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, Hamlet is presented as a devoted son to the memory of his father King Hamlet. It is not until after he is visited by the ghost of the dead king that he is faced with the decision of what his responsibilities are in finding out and avenging any wrong doing's that may be related fathers death. After learning the truth about the events that had taken place, Hamlet had made up his mind to kill the king, however, it took an intemperate rage brought upon by the death of his mother and the knowledge that he was about to die himself for him to follow through with his plans.
