Hero's Journey

In most modern novels, movies, and stories, the main character goes through a journey. In fact, even we go through this journey so often, that we may not even recognize it. …hero's journey, that wasn't his return home. He first had to launch his last rocket. This was his atonement/balance stage. His life was balanced and had everything pretty much put into place. His return home and gift was when Homer's father, John Hickam, accepted that he would not be a miner. His father accepted that Homer would be a boy who used his brain, not brawn who play not football, but with Apollo's fire.
