by Nero, and he married Statilia Messalina after executing her husband. In 68 A.D. Vindex revolted in Lugdunensis, as did Clodius Macer in Africa. Galba declared his allegiance to the Senate and the Roman people, rather than to Nero. He fled from Rome. He was declared a public enemy by the senate. Nero found himself deserted on all sides and killed himself on June 9 68 A.D. Nero's reign was from 54 A.D. to 68 A.D.
