My head aches. I try to open my eyes, blackness. Are my eyes open? They feel open. The darkness that surrounds me is thick and heavy. Am I blind? I attempt to rub my eyes with the hope of restoring my vision. I cannot move my arms. Come to think of it I cannot tell if I am standing or lying. Surrounded by the darkness I cannot move. …neck and limbs twisted. My breathing rate increases, I can feel my heart pounding in my chest. My eyes dart quickly over my body lying in front of me. My helmet lies not a meter from the body, dinted and visor smashed. Remnants of my pack and clothes line the rock face. Cold, dead, blue eyes stare into nothing. Staring into my own dead eyes the world begins to spin, my vision fades out. Darkness.
