…through the education of the young, much like everything else. As they say 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks' and holds very true. These generations, including my own, will never learn, however the education of children regarding tolerance, the environment, ethics etc is the only way of eliminating such problems. However the main problem with this is that the 'old dogs' must educate themselves so as to then, pass on the 'new tricks'.
