Is violence in the entertainment media bad to society?

For millennia, human society has relied on various constructions for the sake of its entertainment. …people will feel compelled to blame someone, or something, for a tendency that is far more complex than a mere video game or action movie. Given the lack of evidence supporting any sort of causal link between violence in media and violence in real life, and given the prime importance of maintaining our democratic way of life, with all its libertarian ideals, it is important that we allow violence to remain in the entertainment media.
