"Lord of the Flies" by William Golding.

The novel "Lord of the Flies" written by William Golding does reflect the time in which it was written (just after the war) to a certain extent and it does show the beliefs of the author, but I do not believe the novel will endure throughout time because it's not successful in revealing universal messages about humans. …will endure throughout time because it does not reveal universal messages about humans. The novel uses a lot of symbolism (The beast represents the evil inside of everyone, Piggy represents order and intelligence.) and that makes it easier to understand what is going on with the storyline. I liked the book and the style in which it was written. It had a good storyline and the author put a lot of thought into the characters.
