Macbeth The Tragic Hero

In William Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth, Macbeth is a "tragic" hero, in the sense that he is noble and respected at the first of the tragedy, but then leads to his own downfall, because of a character flaw, and outside circumstances such as Lady Macbeth's manipulation, and the witches' prophecies told to Macbeth, which lead to his fatal ambition. …hero, because he is noble, and respected at the start of the tragedy, and leads to his own downfall at the fault of a character flaw, which is manipulation from his wife, Lady Macbeth, and the witches telling Macbeth the prophecy of what will be, which leads to Macbeth's ambition, which also leads to his demise. Furthermore, Macbeth causes pain and suffering to innocent parties, and, thus, fulfilling the very definition of a "tragic hero".
