Macbeth is not a villain...

…for control of his own life, and the terms on which he accepted this struggle were consistent with the role of a tragic hero; to illustrate how man can become a victim of his own actions and also external forces. Macbeth is an example of a person who was overcome by evil, but we would not feel his tragedy like we do if he was simply a villain. He was necessarily worthy of our admiration.
