Malaria

Malaria is a parasitic disease characterized by fever, chills, and anemia. Malaria is caused by a parasite called Plasmodium that is transmitted from one human to another by the bite of infected Anopheles mosquitoes. In humans, the parasites migrate to the liver where they mature and release another form called merozoites. These enter the bloodstream and infect the red blood cells. …and more than one million people die. Many African countries are highly contaminated with malaria. Malaria is the number two killer disease in Africa after AIDS. Unless researchers become more serious in discovering a strong dose for fighting malaria, mortality rate will increase, especially in Tanzania. Education regarding curative and preventive ways of this disease ought to be emphasized. In addition, booklets and pamphlets should be published and distributed to inhabitants informing them about malaria.
