My College Essay (NYU)

The room is quiet. No sound could be heard except rain drops hitting the external part of my window. I'm lying on my bed, feeling enervated. I'm currently in a war with my fever. …whom and what they are, not for what they may try to be. I use Holden as an example to show myself that just by having an aimless and pointless life like Holden, it will lead to a miserable life. Obstacles that Holden had been through taught me to have goals in life, instead of having an aimless life. And now, my goal is to go to college and develop a well-rounded education in life.
