My Worst Job
I'm well aware that since man's fall from grace in the Garden of Eden he must toil in one form or another to earn his daily bread. And I'm willing to prostitute myself (and have) in a variety of ways to make my way in this life. But I must draw the line at ever again working as a "packager" for Sears Roebuck and Company's catalogue department. First of all, the duties I had to
workers were dependent on their small weekly paychecks, they suffered this humiliation and disgrace without protest. The supervisors had managed to destroy any sense of dignity and worth in the workers, and I despised them because of this. I left this job as soon as I was able, but the experience left me embittered and determined to improve my circumstances so that I would never again need to remain a day in such a job.
