<Tab/>To Kill a Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee in the mid-1950s, is a book of great content. Throughout the story, the novel explores such genres as coming-of-age story, social drama, courtroom drama and Southern drama. <Tab/>The story takes place in the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama, in 1933-1935. not the world. To Kill a Mockingbird is a great lesson of life, and the values of its main characters, especially Atticus, are well in advance on their time. I admire Atticus, because even though he is surrounded by racists and he knows that he might put himself into danger, he chooses to do the right thing and defend Tom Robinson. Not only is that man intelligent, wise and kind; he is also very courageous.
