Paradise Lost

In John Milton's epic poem Paradise Lost there are a series of themes that are presented either in an implicit or explicit way that brings the reader to want to read on. It is plain that Adam and Eve are sub-heroes of Paradise Lost and the Son of God is the ultimate hero. Milton will carry this theory over into his sequel of Paradise Lost, Paradise Regained, where the reader sees the Son of God being tempted as well, by Satan.
