To create a story of this skill and have so many parallels and to not alter the historical timeline to a great degree requires great talent and great knowledge of the Roman times. Steven Saylor is an excellent scholar, and writer and he shows it in this book The Venus Throw and shows it probably just as much if not more in his other books.
