Drifting slow inside, she was in the middle of the crowd when the church bell rang. For some reason, she couldn't move any more. The ringing of the church bell suddenly became so hateful and unbearable. The odious cancer had taken her away from Sharon, taken her away from all the people who she had helped. Miserably, she crept out of the woods. Smelling the freshness of earth, she wondered if Irene had become a part of it, still looking after her.
