Citizen Kane (1941) is a movie about the life of Charles Foster Kane (Orson Welles) told through the eyes and stories of close friends and distant ones. The uses of cinematography throughout this film helps to keep the viewer questioning what characters are telling Shelby the truth or are lying to get him in trouble. In conclusion both films, although fifty-nine years apart use their main character's, Kane and Shelby, as they pursuit their lost past. The past that does not belong to money and greed, nor life before chaos and frustration.
