…also another purpose to their regimen. It was quite important for them to show that they had the dedication and moral conduct to their city. This did not differ them form the other communities in the Greek world but like in everything else I think that they took this a lot more personally. In all, the Spartans seemed very oppressive, but through this Sparta became more and more powerful and respected throughout the Greek world.
