State and Federal Systems

In the United States of America there is not a single U.S. court system. Every State located in the U.S. has their own individual court system to handle the criminal and civil cases that are taken to court within the state. …the rights of state employees. Other public employers do not have the right to claim "sovereign immunity" from individuals' legal actions. The courts decisions also do not affect the enforcement of state laws that govern the discrimination or regulation of wages and hours of employment. Although individual state employees have court in which they can sue their state employers, the federal government has the ability to enforce these laws at the state level (Supreme Court, 2000).
