Sterotypes

Parents are not a child's only source of information about gender stereotypes. Teachers, relatives, peers and the mass media also influence stereotypes. The mass media has a large impact on gender stereotypes. The media has become one of the most influential resources, which all people frequently use in their everyday lives. …been pretty much represented equally. Women are now more often key characters in television programs. In movies women have occupations that have more authority. For instance, in the movie S.W.A.T actress Michelle Rodriguez is a police officer. Unlike the old stereotypes of women, Michelle stuck up for herself and didn't let even guys push her around. In the past women in movies were all quiet and Men almost always dominate television programs.
