Harrison used the five characters to represent many Aboriginal children that were forcibly removed from their families and the consequences to the lives of those children and their parents have been both tragic and enduring. The play also reminds us of what the children in turn had taken away from them including their identity, a sense of place and unfortunately, their sanity.
