…gt;The duality of life often brings struggle to one's life. It seems to be an impossible feat to juggle personal ideals and views with society's conformed view. Edna was ahead of her time in thought and was not able to live in such an oppressive society. Her need for independence completely contrasted with her given role in life. Unfortunately she was not able to overcome her life's challenges and it resulted in her death.
